About Us
Youth football and cheerleading has a long history in the Valley View School District.  It all started with Archbald Rams, Jessup Eagles, and the Blakely Bulldogs.

Each organization containing the colors of their former high school.   The Rams were Green and Gold, the Eagles were Green and White, and the Bulldogs were Blue and Gold.  To say they were all rivals with each other is putting it mildly.

The Eagles and Bulldogs both played in the Anthracite Football Conference with the Rams playing in the Northern Area Junior Football Conference.  Through the years these organization have played in some classic games against each other.  The Eagles played their home games at Jessup Memorial Field, the Rams played at AC Field (The famous 80-yard field), and the Bulldogs played down at Cougar Stadium.

In the late 1980’s the Jessup Eagles merged with the Blakely Bulldogs leaving two organizations in the district.  In 1994 the Rams moved their practices up to the Valley View High School and moved their home games to Cougar Stadium.

In 1999 the Archbald Rams moved their practices to Jessup Memorial Field.

In the year 2000, the Archbald Rams made the decision to leave the Northern Area Junior Football League (NAJFL) and join the newly formed All County Conference Junior Football League (ACCJFL).  During that same year, the Archbald Rams changed their name to the Valley View Jr Cougars and incorporated the high school colors of blue, gold, and white.

Football games returned to Jessup Memorial Field in 2000 as the Jr Cougars played their first two home games in Jessup while the new turf was being installed at Cougars Stadium.

In 2011, the Jr Cougars and the Valley View Bulldogs began a partnership with each other and began joint registrations to help ensure both organizations had enough to compete.

In 2016, The Jr Cougars and the Bulldogs merged to become one organization.

Youth football and cheerleading has a long history in the Valley View School District.  Our organization takes pride in preserving and maintaining the long history of Jr Football and Cheerleading in the district.
