Junior Cougars Update 7-11-24

Hard to believe the season is here. First day of practice is on Monday 7-15-24 at Jessup Memorial Field. We have a few items to share in preparation for Monday.

Monday is usually hectic. Please be patient. We will have an information table set up under the white pavilion that you can go to if you have questions or just don't know where to go. First day or too can be frustrating, we get it, but please bear with us. We do not anticipate any issues but you never know.

Parking - We have a total of 275 kids registered this year, so the field will be packed and parking may become an issue. You can park up along Erie St and enter through the park, C team and I team boys will be down at that half of the field. You can park in the main lot on Hill St as well as the area to the left of the Tank (looking at the park). There is a little parking on New Park St and on Dolph St. Please do not park in areas that are marked "No Parking". If you are parking on New Park St please do not block the street and please to not park in anyone's yard. Please do not park in Jessup Hose Co #2 parking lot. Police will enforce and ticket anyone illegally parked.

There is also a parking lot at the top of Hand St (Lasalle) that can be utilized. It is a larger lot. When dropping off kids please use either Erie St (park entrance) or New Park St. Please do not pull into the main lot to drop off kids, it can create grid lock.

Please clean up all your garbage when leaving the field. We anticipate having 500 people at each practice. We need to keep the field clean. If you do see some garbage, please help us out and throw it away in any of the garbage cans located at the field.

We will have a concession stand set up at practice. Snacks and drinks will be available.

First week of football practice will be heat acclimation. Monday and Tuesday no equipment will be worn. Thursday and Friday will be helmets and shoulder pads. We have begun handing out equipment. We still have quit a few that still has not received equipment. Do not worry. Your coaches will give you a time to get your equipment. Either Monday or Tuesday. Remember that you need to pay for your tickets in order to get your equipment.

Parents of the younger kids will need to accompany their child if they should need to use the restroom. If you are dropping of your child, please be sure to get their on time to pick them up. Always be cognizant of weather and that practice could be cut short because of bad weather.

Please let your coach know if your child has any health concerns. We do have information provided with registration, but always good to have that discussion with your coach.

If you have not received your tickets, you can do so at practice at the concession/information table.

Everyone should have been contacted by their coach by now and added to their team app. They will let you know days and times for practice. If not, please contact one of the following:

All issues should be discussed with your coach. If you are still having issues, please contact our Football Rep Jeff. All cheer issues should also be addressed with your coach, if still having issues, contact Cynthia. No issues will be discussed unless you have followed this chain. Fundraising Questions (tickets) contact Bev Hallett at 570-430-3647. All other board members will not handle issues unless it is necessary.
